Hi

I have a premier 24 Poly with a comm 2400 installed.

I have taken a direct feed from the virgin JB outside my house and fitted it via a CSL filter to the comms module

I am having lots of crackling ion the line and the calls are vary faint.

Also i can seem to get the comms module to send text messages?

any help would be great

Do you think that the problem could be the filter or the cable or the comms module??

No...have you enabled comms? If it's a bad line you will have problems with the modem tones

Can you run telephone cable with mains or coxal cable

Not the I gave but if ok ill use the same trunking to hide the cable

sounds like the line quality isn't very good.

Checking with a normal phone connection should confirm as previously suggested.

You can change the modem level, in global options(3), system options (2), modem level(7) or scroll down to modem level, press No then 01 - 07 to change the values.

I would have to check which way the levels work to allow for noise on the line but thats how it can be adjusted its something like :-

value : 2 1 0 7 6 5 4 3
attenuation +4 to -10

usually find 2 or 7 being the best options to try if you are having coms problems, or get the gain of the line upped.

But think the crackling is a bad line/ connection.
