I plan to get my garden landscaped later in the year. It's approx 18m wide and 42m in length.

We're about to put down a concrete substrate for the patio which will contain porcelain tiles 6m deep and 15m wide immediately outside the patio doors.

Not knowing how the garden will be designed and what material will be used, what I do know is that I would like the path around the garden lit up, have some flood lights shining up the large tree at the end of the garden, some two way cylinder lights on the walls, a connection for a small water feature in the centre of the garden.

Any suggested advice on what considerations to give for preparing for this. I plan to get the builder run the first fix cables etc.

Is the builder subcontracting a spark?

You need to check this out, as you are best talking to the spark to see what type and size of cable they are planning to use. Distance and load will affect the cable choice.
