I am having new carpets fitted but a bit concerned that under the old carpet there are some (not all) broken floor tiles. When the fitters come in they will just attach to whats there won't they....so if it's uneven and got holes now it still will have when they are done?

Whats the best way to fix the holes, some pug or replace the tiles?

Take out the broken tiles then make good with sand & cement.

If you want to speed it up then use fast drying cement such as Jetcem, see my post here regarding Jetcem

No rush so normal cement find, do I just get standard cement...any particular parts combination?

masona thanks for your help. The tiles are quite thin, will a thin layer of concrete be any use.
