I have primatic heating system(i know iknow but i cant afford to change it!) but anyway my thermostat/element has stopped working ,I checked with a tester screwdriver and no power passes through the element. I cannot seem to remove the thing for love nor money with out the possibility of tearing the tank,it just wont budge have tried wd40 ,heating it up,nothing works. But if i tear the tank it may cost me a fortune, not the £12 for the elemnt but a new primatic tank,(do they still make them, then if they dont a whole new central heating system!! I really dont want that at the moment ,so wondering if anyone has any ideas on this one? thanks folks

Do you mean your back up immersion has failed? if so does it matter as you will be using your c/htg boiler anyway.

ta for the reply, yep thats right the heater in the emersion . But with the emersion its only tank hot water and no need for gas to be used. Also my hot water heats up and the rads do too with my c/h boiler ( but thats prob another story!)not needed during warm weather! So still trying to remove the element from the tank im afraid!!
