Would you recommend primer or undercoat on a new plywood internal door?

Thanks Martin

A Primer is a Primer or Sealer. But an Undercoat is usually an Undercoat but not an Primer or Sealer. However, there is an Acrylic Primer/Undercoat that is for Primer or Sealer or Undercoat. But the Oil (non-acrylic) based give best results in my opinion.

That water-based acrylic does seem to raise the grain. But what I do like about it, it dries quickly and you can put on a few coats, then wipe with a fine abrasive, it seems soft enough to flat off easily.
