Printer says NO

Hi Everyone

I have a Brother MFC (multifunction) printer, it uses individual 4 individual inks, I have recently replaced them and have had no problems at all.

However yesterday the LCD display tells me there is no cartridge, to lift scanner lid and re install cartridge ?

I did this many times checking all of the ink cartridges are re inserted properly and this still tells me no cartridge, you know what I have even tried turning it off and on again.

Is this knackered it is only 19 months old, any advice would be appreciated.

Do you have to use their own brand or do you use compatibles? If they are the ones with the chip inside, and you forgot to reset the ink counter, maybe it thinks you are trying to reuse an old cartridge? Otherwise I don't know, what's the manual say?

I will read the manual again, I use compatibles and do not think there was a chip in the originals however I will let you know the outcome.
