Can anyone help I have a problem with a tank in the loft. I can hear the pipes gurgling on a night and on a morning I can see the overflow has been running.

How can I tell if the hot water or the central heating is over heating, or indeed if the cylinder coil is leaking.

Any advice at this stage would be most appreciated.

First of all find out from which cistern in the loft the overflow is dripping from.
Not enough information about your c/h system, can you have your hot water and central heating on separately? has this only just started to happen? Have you noticed if the colour of the water from your hot tap has changed?
