Protherm boiler cuts out with hot water on

Recently have been having a problem with central heating system. The boiler keeps cutting out if the hot water only is on. The heating has to be on high for it not to cut out. Does anyone have any ideas what would cause this problem?

Not very clear from what you have said but it sounds as if the diverter is failed.

As always a competent boiler engineer will be able to diagnose.
