Hi! Looking for some advice please. I’ve got a 1965 house with tilting windows with Spilka hinges.
I’m going to refinish them because they’re still working BUT there’s some gaps opened around the bottom corners. See the pic.
The near frame is the example where it looks like the bottom rail has dropped, and there’s a lap joint that’s creating a 1-2mm gap. The window next to it shows the edge build up. No idea how these are constructed or fastened, there’s no noticeable “give” in them, they aren’t loose.
What shall I do here? Repaint, filler, pull together and refasten somehow? Ideas gratefully received!
