hi folks I have been asked to put in an additional spur for a socket at a friends house.

The only problem is there are not sockets near by to pull e spur off the ring and there are no free mcb' s to pull a new dedicated radial circuit off the consumer unit.

The only option I have would be to pull a spur off the current ring main directly at the mcb in the consumer unit in other words adding and addition feed out of the mcb (3wires) instead of the normal 2.

Could any one advise if this acceptable and conforms to the 17th edition requirements.

Cheers

Yes, all conforms to the regs - assuming the circuit is RCD-protected. Cable 2.5mm² if CPD is 32A, etc....

Yep all protected on a 32amp mcd

Many many thanks for your help and advice

Perfectly acceptable, although some will argue not. Ignore them, all is good.
