I am going to move the washing machine into the basement. This means it will below the level of the drain. I envisaged capturing the waste in a tray and using a pump to take the waste to the drain entrance.
The distance between the washing machine location and drain entrance is 3m and the height difference will be around 1.5 m.

Can anyone advise me on:

1)Pump size and type?
2)The capture tray / tank – what is the correct name for this and what size should it be?
3)The waste pipe size required?

Also if there is a better way to get rid of the waste please let me know.

Thanks
