Hi folks, question for you......

should there be mortar around the waste pipes that come through my brickwork and join into the soil stack? Or are they ok without?

Hope this makes sense?!?

If the holes have been core drilled then no real need. If the holes have been hacked out at least half a brick - then they need filling.

Thanks for the replies folks. I'm guessing they have been core drilled. Please see pictures.

Thanks again.

There should be no gaps around things in walls, except for a sleeved gas pipe.

They are fairly tight holes (ooooer) so I would probably just run a bead of sealant around them, something like ct1
