Hi fellas,

I'm at present planning to put a garage onto the eaves side of my house. From memory there are 5 existing airbricks in the house (over a 9.5m long stretch of wall) which would then vent into the new garage. The previous plans done by an architect show 2 airbricks, 1 at the front of the garage (low level) and 1 at the rear of the garage (high level).

Is this a sufficient solution to the problem? (garage is 9.5m x 4m long)

Something else I've wondered is it worth insulating the garage slab/walls with all this ventilation?

1. Yes.

2. No.

Keep the garage draughty or vent to the next nearest outside walls.

I've had a reply from local building standards who say the house ventilation has to be re-routed elsewhere and the garage vents cannot be utilised for this.

Makes everything a lot more complicated :(
