Raising toilet height due to new flooring..

I certainly drilled and countersunk mine. It's neater. Screw one or two down while you decide on the countersink depth, because they will pull themselves down a bit. I put them in at 300mm intervals, adjusted to suit lengths and positions of joists and joints.

Chalk the pipe and cable runs on the surface first to avoid unfortunate accidents.

When I wound my screws in tight they sat slightly recessed in the plywood.

After varnishing I gave them all a smear of silicone so it was completely flat, you cannot see or feel anything under the vinyl.

As said abobe see how it looks.
