Fires up three times in rapid succession, gas lights then shuts down on all three occassions then locks out and displays code 2. Any ideas folks?

Shouldn't make no difference about the guarantee card being sent in. Your boiler has a 3 year warranty from date of installation.
Ravenheat should be able to deduce that it is under warranty by its serial number and the clear fact that these have not even been produced for 3 years yet
Ravenheat are one of the few or perhaps the only manufacturer who are reluctant to operate the warranty if the installer was not CORGI registered and did not complete the Benchmark certificate.
They should deal with it during the first year under the Sale of Goods but they dont have to in subsequent years and in any case the further years of warranty are conditional on having the boiler serviced every year.
