Some reassurance from you pros please. I live in London, my mother in law (85yrs old) live 200 miles away in Exmouth...we are her neaest relatives. Problem...the electrics in her house keep tripping out and scaring the pants off her. The place needs complete re-wiring according to a local electrician. He's quoted £1500 to do the job. The house is a two bedroomed bungalow with living room, kitchen and bathroom. Is this a fair price for the job and what should we expect for this price? Thanks.

Hello,

Good price to be honest.... Ask the electrician if that includes all materials or just labour?... A new consumer unit?... and ask if it will be tested and inspected.

If all that comes in the pricethen you know it should be rewired to a reasonable standard.. and you will have a copy of the testing results which you can query if you have any problems in the future.

hope this helps,

carlos
