Hi all, I will be fitting a keyclamp style handrail to a raised driveway, I have the following brackets to fix to the walls (6 in total).

The holes for the brackets are 10mm before galvanising and I whilst I originally thought I would use 10mm fixings I think it will be very unlikely that I get all three holes exactly aligned. So I could drill them out bigger but that will obviously remove the galvanising. So I'm thinking I will go with 8mm fixings instead and was considering these two:

Either thunderbolts, which I've never used before and feel a bit sceptical about but they seem to be fit for purpose https://www.multiscrew.com/products...crew-yzp-zinc-hex-head?variant=31351466000431 (or perhaps slightly longer than 100mm and should I use some washers too?)

Or sleeve anchors eg https://www.diydirect.com/heavy-duty-sleeve-anchors-with-hex-bolts-m8-x-100mm-10-pack

Or something else?

Thanks as ever.

Thanks for replying,
Just use blue plugs. They hold extensions to houses.
Do you mean the ordinary plugs and screws? Wouldn't the screws required have to be massive to not get pulled into the 10mm holes?
Hammer fixings??
Aren't they normally for doors/windows and the like? And as per woodys suggestion wouldn't the screws need massive heads?

Washers if you can't get a pan head or coach screw head wide enough.

I'll go with sleeve anchors, screws with big washers just seems to be a poor solution.

I tend to use stainless wide dome head torx. The heads of the 5/6mm screws are about 13mm.

They look better than the alternatives and add a bit of security.
