My old glo worm ?galaxie? back boiler needs fixing

the pilot light keeps getting blown out when the heating comes on

can anyone recommend a corgi plumber in north/east london

would like a service done as well

The Galaxie is the thingy with the asbestos gasket round the combustion plate innit? And a difficult to clean heat exchanger ? Or am i thinking of sumthing else ?

Some engineers may not work on the appliance because of this. Apart from the fact the boiler is ancient capital A and pretty inefficient.

Probs just a choked pilot lifting when the gas comes through to the burner.

My advice is if/when u get it fixed is to get a nice shiney new efficient appliance.

i'd like to replace it, but the new regs mean the whole thing has to be moved at great expense, was quoted £4K by bgas

Get some more quotes.

You will get it a lot cheaper than that.

Get an older engineer whose lungs are already filled with asbestos to give it a service . Pilot is partially blocked. And its only about 34 year old so not run in yet
