Just having some thoughts about having my chimney removed and wanted to check what BC actually sign off on.
Time is a little tight so cant afford to re plaster 4 walls etc to make good once the full stack is out in the whole house, so i would like to just put the gallows brackets in (assuming neighbor still has their chimney), in the loft space and get that signed off.
I would then room by room as time permits.
Party wall will be done in two stages if needed - one for the bracket and then later for the removal of the stacks
question is, do BC sign off on the removal of the whole stack and putting in gallows brackets (thinking more that they may want to sign off on the make good between ground floor and 1st floor?) or just the support?
To note, that i have two stacks which join into one in the loft. One of the stacks from ground to first has already been removed to loft height and is supported by a rusty looking set of brackets. I would be taking this further up and installing one bracket for the main stack if possible.
