I have a fireplace and i want to open up the recess so there is a lot more room around the wood burner.
House was built about 12-15 years ago and has pots i think all the way up

Would i be able to do this myself?
I imagine i would need to get a support in above where I'm looking to do the work to support it all before its rebuilt- i would class the bottom half as a rebuild!
I just didn't know how i would get a think enough support about 2 meters above the original lintel without disturbing the pots.

The company installing the fire will also put a liner ect in when fitting the log burner.

Ill add some phots of what it looks like now and the hope i hold out for the end project haha!
I had to colour the fireplace shape in as the room is storage currently! Its an internal wall, stair case is on the back

Sorry but that is not a job for a DIYer who has to ask how to do it. Get a reputable builder in.
