I have to remove a rad with a trv. Can someone confirm how I ensure the valve is definately turned off so I do not flood when the rad is off (if the temp drops for example). Many thanks.

Only by replacing the head with the special cap that was sold with the valve when new

It depends on TRV make and model.....some have a 0 posiion this is an off position. Some just go back to a frost setting. A cap is a sure way but a lot of TRV dont come with caps now at the 0 position does the same job.

or go to ur local shed and buy a rad cap (1/2 and 3/4 sizes sold) and screw it onto the rad valve

(or tap connectors, which u have dead ended)

With some TRVs you can fit a penny under the head, which pushes the pin down further when you GENTLY tighten the head onto it.
