Hi there - I'm rendering a 1950s cavity wall house - the front will also have new oak beams/panels and i'm looking at the most cost effective render - I'm thinking cement based and have been quoted £25 per sqm excl for 320 sqm - labour and materials (excl scaffold).

1. Does that sounds reasonable - what mix would you recommend

2. Should i traditional lime render

My plan was to paint the render a dirty white colour.

I'ev discounted the insulated coloured renders on cost albeit i realise the maintenance cost is lower.

Help appreciated thanks
