Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could help me please. Moved into a 3 bed house (built in 2000) in November and having a hard time repainting the property due to the previous occupant doing a really crap job. Every room has been badly painted with some sort of cheap nasty white matt paint.
The paint comes off on the sponge if washed down, comes off in patches if you paint over it, like an explosion in a talc factory if you sand it and powdery in areas when touched.
The stair wall had glitter paint which we sanded off and washed down but the paint just came off in patches to a dark grey layer which we have been sanding it back to but is taking forever.
My daughters room had a crack in the paint which turned into a large patch which has went back to what i assume is plaster.
The kitchen which was partially wallpapered probably to hide the disaster beneath and the utility room has flaking paint which again looks like goes back to the plaster.
There was a leak from the bathroom down to the utility just before christmas and now the paint bubble has been removed theres a large patch which im not sure how to prep.
A few walls had to be skimmed as they were in such a bad state however whatever the walls are painted with caused the plaster to just slide off the wall.
Can anyone tell me what i need to do to be able to repaint the whole house back to a clean white canvas with emulsion? Any recommended products?
I will add a few photos to show what im talking about.
Sorry for such a long post.
Thanks.
