assuming its eggbox internals a new door is about a tenner
you could cover the whole side with hardboard[you may have to move the door stops]
or take a bit off ply mdf 6mm thick 50mm wider than the hole score surface
screw a screw in as a handle head out cover the overlap inch each end with pink gripfill or no nails work into gap pull onto back face of wood with screw till tacky should be near instant
when dry fill with polycell type filler
or if its just the surface dented like a crater with a hole fill the hole with paper then filler in the crater
