My girlfriend managed to break an old drinking glass and was not best pleased with doing it! In fact she was furious as it has great sentimental value. :(

It didn't shatter but broke into 3 distinct pieces. Can anyone suggest a way to repair it? I know it's never going to be perfect but even glued back together would be better than nothing. Is there any specific cement for this type of job? Something that could be smeared over it so that it could be stuck together and even be safe to drink from again?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

you can buy superglue designed for glass, but it doesn't last long. Sorry, in reality it's a gonner.

Also you could use UV glass glue, not cheap!
Some cure using natural daylight, but others need a uv lamp.
Maybe a non starter but worth a mention, I thought ;)
