Hi,

The Previous owners of our house ran a 3core flex underground from the house to provide power to the shed. The cable isnt buried very deep ~ 12inches, I want to replace with SWA and dig it deeper down. Will i have to get electrician in? will i need to worry about Part P/BC regs?

Thanks

It's notifiable works, so via a registered spark or via building control, a fee and enough skill + equipment to provide test results.

Best bet is call in a spark, ask to do the donkey work with the spark seeing the route before back fill.

If you go ug it should be 600mm down, warning tape. Could you go surface, clipped?

Also think about use / load for the circuit. The more amps you need the bigger the cable.

As mentioned you should seek pro advice.
