About £65 per square metre to supply and fit the rubber.

Hi Cotswold builder you don't say why they have delaminated,it's abit like a felt roofer or grp roofer saying the same about epdm. They delaminate for a reason normally down to a bad installation by a cowboy builder or roofer.Like all products badly installed they will not last long no matter how good the product.

Being stingy with the resin is the usual cause. When done properly they'll last for decades.

Hi Dilly, they failed because they were put down on wet boards, one of the roofs was a brand new build 3 weeks ago, the guy put one coat of matt down with no flo-coat, it wasnt put on correctly, the client got him to rectify it, and yes he put another coat of matt over the damp roof.
One we replaced a month ago also parted with the boards and was blown completely of the decking.

Im not saying all glass fibre roofs are fitted incorrect, but the problem it seems is that the materials are so easily obtainable, and every one thinks its easy, they pick up the ( how to do it ) video of the counter and away they go.

There was a poster on here a few weeks ago, same problem, i actually priced him to strip the lot of, supply and fit new boards with epdm rubber with the 20yr gaurantee. Roof size 5.5m x 4.3m £1200
He said it was to dear and has posted the job on The My Builder site, but wants glass fibre stuck on the existing wet boards.

He has one interest in the job, funnily enough its a builder with no mention of being a flat roofer.

You get what you pay for.

Hi
Thanks for your reply cotswold builder,i see from your reply it was incorrectly applied therefore a installation fault, your original post gave the impression that fibreglass roofs were no good as you have taken a few off in the past.Again as you say anyone now can get hold of the products watch the video and think they can do it.This applies to epdm and fibreglass and other products. The customer has a choice and generally they will go with price(not all thank god) and this is were all the problems start and products start to get a bad name.
