I am replacing my old wire fuses with MCB's. I had one 5 amp, one 15 and two 30 amp fuses, but when I when to the local B&Q I could only find 6, 16 and 32 Amp MCB's. They assured me that it would be OK to simply replace the old fuses with the slightly higher rated fuses. Is this correct?? Or should I go out and look somewhere else for the exact same rating MCB's??

Thanks
David

I had the same question and asked it both at B&Q on on this site. The result was it was ok to fit them. I did so about 2 months ago and haven't had any problems.

6,16,32 MCB's are equivalent to the respective 5,15 & 30 Amp rewireable fuses.

Have you considered getting your wiring checked before you buy the MCB's. How old is you installation ? With only four fuses you installation must be small or old.
