Hi all,

Had the results of a survey recently on a neglected early 1900's semi, had a few recommendations come back and not sure whether its anything to worry about or just a surveyor covering himself, after all the roof has managed ok this far.

its got a cross gable roof with gable to side and front

'the purlins span further than can be justified by calculation and their connection at the right party wall is unauthodox'

with a recommendation that the roof structure should be strengthened.

first picture shows the view looking at the party wall(which needs building up) from the side gable wall.

Just looking for some advice as to what actually would need doing and what kind of ball park i'd be looking at to pay someone to do it as i'm relatively clueless as to what im looking at.
