room thermostat

I have a basic honeywell room thermostat (not frost free). During cold and not so cold nights the thermostat will turn the system on - all other controls will be off.

Can ayone tell me why and how I can stop it happening?

It must be cold where the t/stat is...so it switches on.
You can turn it down very low at night

Where is the boiler?

In the kitchen directly under the wiring centre and 12 feet away from the stat.

I dont think its the room stat thats making the boiler come on.
I would guess there is a fault with the boiler or its a frost stat problem.
