Rotten flexible WC connector

Greetings!

While investigating smells from the downstairs WC I found the flex pipe hose has disintegrated in three places.

It has been installed for about 6 years. Is this a problem with these hoses, or is there something else I should look for? Thanks.

You sure that's a WC connector that's been used. Looks more like something for use on a tumble drier.

No, its a proper WC connector. It has the WC pan connector on one end and the110mm soil pipe socket on the other

You can buy a one way valve that prevents rats from entering the flexi pan connector, from the drains. It fits onto the end of the pan connector.
Think Macalpine call theirs a rodent barrier.

Best find a permanent fixture using solid soil pipe, even rodents can lift rodent barriers. Sorry, McAlpine, but they do.

Easy remedy for chewing is hard pipe it. A flap helps but an interceptor may be a good idea.
Get a decent drain guy in and maybe pest control.
I hate rats.
