Hi Noob here
Hopefully someone can help out here.

The boiler and thermostat has been working fine for two years now suddenly the central heating wont come on.

The green light on the receiver comes on and the thermostat shows the little flame as usual but fails to start the central heating. Ive reset the boiler and the thermostat by turning it on and off again but no luck. Please someone advise. Gloworm 24cxi boiler

OK, it's a combi boiler, so are you getting hot water at the taps?

So the first thing you could try is to see if the Salus is at fault, or the boiler. But you need a certain level of electrical knowledge to do this and the ability to do it safely. If any doubt do not proceed.

The Salus is basically a switch that turns the heating on. As well as its mains supply, the Salus is also wired to two wiring terminals inside the boiler. These are shown in your boiler manual as "Voltage Free Heating Connection" (It's page 27 on the copy I have) If you are able to find these terminals, turn the power off, and remove the two wires from there and insert a link in their place (as shown in the boiler manual) and then restore power and turn the boiler on. That will show if the Salus is at fault or the boiler. If the Heating comes on then the Salus is at fault, if it doesn't come on then its the boiler and you will need to seek qualified help.

If the heating does come on with the link in place, it will be continuously on, so this is just a test and not a repair.

Thanks for shedding light much appreciated. I think i may just get someone in and do a service whilst checking the salus.

Just had someone come have a look at the boiler. The pump has gone it tries to pump the water but fails hence why the heating is not working.
