I am shortly going to be fitting a new kitchen. The "old" kitchen had a cooker with combined oven, grill & hob connected to a 45A cooker control unit with combined socket. Would it be better to connect the hob to the existing CCU and connect the double oven (which also as a grill to a seperate CCU). I have read that the CCU for the double oven can replace an existing 13A socket in the room , is this correct?

The information given is not enough to answer question but main think is what the installation instructions from the manufacture says often you are required to limit the supply to oven or cooker with a fuse or MCB and if you use the same Isolator you can't do this.
Also the current draw may be over what a single supply can deliver.
Also the distance between to two items may be too great.
Either you or the electrician if your not the electrician would be better asking whoever is overseeing the Part P regulations you pay enough money to Part P you may as well get the advantage as well.
