Hi

Im looking to buy a new shower and have a few questions:

1) What are the downsides to a basic sequential shower? Im not fussed having a dual control shower as Ive always wanted the shower on full blast all the time. So sequential shower is best (and cheaper)?

2) I like the look of concealed units, but should the shower ever fail is it harder for a plumber to fix? (would they have to remove tiles etc...) And would it make it harder for me to upgrade the shower in the future?

3) What are considered good makes of shower? Triton?

Thanks

A sequential shower needs the temperature setting every time you get in it. A dual control can have the temp set where you like it, and you just turn it on and off. Dual control are also often easier to repair as they don't require such a complicated valve.

Concealed is fine provided you buy a recognised brand who sell spares for their showers. Buy something obscure and you'll end up digging the whole thing out of the wall again when it breaks.

Personally not a fan of Triton. Aqualisa, VADO, and Crosswater are all good. Mira are also decent quality but their aftersales support is appalling

Thanks Muggles, very useful. So (just so Im sure!) with a dual control shower, as soon as you turn it on, it is hot yes? ie: you dont have to do that awkward 'cold shower dance' for the first few seconds. If the water comes out hot instantly then that its a definite plus!
