Geezers!

I have just bought a heated towel rail (mounted in a large cupboard to act like an airing cupboard).

I have a 5 year guarantee on it. SHould I buy a back up element for when this one screws up? If and when it does fail am I right in thinking I can just replace the element. There is nothing to go wrong as such in the rail I hope.

The thermostatic element is a 300w unit.

ALso will I need to replace the transfer fluid (it is not oil).

Any thoughts?

p.s. this was an expensive rail and element - the old DIY job I had leaked after 2 years and and had a fixed element.

Thanks for you time

Is it the type that can be used with the central heating like a radiator? If so these have interchangable elements, but the water will need emptying if the element is in the bottom. ;)
