Hi, I'm plumbing in a cast iron bath; however, the clearance between the bottom of the bath plughole and the floor is only 64mm. What, if any, is the most suitable waste to use (u-bend or bottle trap or other)?

FYI, it's a tiled bathroom floor and waste goes into the soil stack.

Advice from you experts appreciated!
Thanks, Jay

Thanks chaps -

Nige F - you mean one of these? http://www.onplumb.com/40mm-hepvo-self-sealing-waste-valve-cv1.html

Bingobongo - yes, the outlet end will be too high to fit under the bath so I'll have to rotate it so it's level with threaded bit. Is there a chance that rotating will compromise the purpose of the u-bend bit though? Also, looking at the image, it isn't clear which bit will need to rotate? Final q - do you know what the total height of the fixture is? I couldn't find dimensions on the screwfix page. Thx

get a shallow bath trap

looks like a ? on its side

you will probably have to angle it to the side of the bath as the outlet is a wee bit higher than the threaded bit if you see what i mean

If you are discharging into a soil stack, its against regs to use one of these as the trap depth is insufficient. They are only to be used when discharging into a gully or hopper (see Screwfix description).

Use the Hep VO
