Shower switch question

Hi

Just wondered if someone could advise me. I am not a spark but I have tried to replace a double pole 45a shower switch with pull cord.

On the old one, one of the black wires had completely burnt out and was black. I cut the wires back and replaced with new switch and shower works.

However, when I pull the cord to the OFF position the red neon light stays on, is this ok/safe?

Any advice is really appreciated.

You have the supply and load the wrong way round.
