Hi, is there any reason why a 45A DP switch cant be installed at the DB to isolate the shower?
The reason I ask is that when going to change a shower I found it was wired straight off the MCB ( RCD side ) and it would be a very akward Job to re-route the cable to the normal pullcord or switch outside bathroom position, as the cable would be too short and inaccessable. Just didnt want to leave the shower wired as it was as there is no way of local isolation. Thanks

Unless the consumer unit is right next to the bathroom then no you can't. As you said the switch is a local isolator and therefore it must be local to the shower. There is no point fitting one if it is at the consumer unit (which is quite often hidden in locations difficult to get to)

Sorry, but the job needs doing properly.
