"Shower to Bath knob" missing

Helping a friend move into a new place and the knob to swap from the bath tap to the shower tap is missing.

You can lift it up with a set of pliers (and push it back down) and it works, but obviously not ideal.

Trying to find a replacement 'knob' but not sure what they are called and/or if they are even a universal thing you can just buy ?

I've seen sets which include both the taps etc but she's trying to keep the costs down.

Also, if we wanted to replace the shower head + hose, do they tend to be just a universal fitting you can just swap over ?

Usually specific to the tap, ie; the make/model of tap. Search for bath shower mixer diverter handle

Is it rented, if so get the landlord on it.

If not then it'll be hard to get a replacement.

Yes the hoses and handsets tend to be the same size.
