I trying to maximise a fallback position available under permitted development. My house has an existing side extension agreed in 1967, which is around 50% of the width of the original house. Is it possible to add another 50% on the other side under PD? I believe it's not possible to add 50% to each side under PD, but wonder if this still applies when one of the side extensions was from an earlier period?
