Hi,

Can someone just tell me with this controller and the setback temperature, is it best to set it at a low temperature and should that be lower than the comfort temperature you have set?

Timings on controller are set but heating is coming on regardless during night when it's not set to come on and I am guessing that's because the temp in the house has fallen below the setback temp.. Only thing is, don't want it to come on during the night and it's getting really hot in the house when the heating is coming on. I have comfort (sun icon) set to 19 and the setback (moon icon) set at 21.

Any help would be greatly appreciated since I have the manual but it doesn't actually explain the setback and comfort temps and best operation and I don't want a huge gas bill :)

Many thanks

Hi,

Yes thanks, I did read reply but it wasnt helpful and the manual does not actually explain the setback temp.

I was messing around with the control over the last couple of days and no difference which is why I thought I would post the question differently, since mucking around with the setback temp now means the heating comes on at 4am outside of the timing parameters set.

Thanks

it really is quite simple as Dan stated in his first reply on your first post

Read these all the way through..

from my reading of it you must have it in auto mode. The setback temperature is set by putting the slider to T and the moon position. During the night hours when the CH is on, it will control to this temperature. During the day it will control to the setpoint you have entered in T and the sun position.

How much gas do you want to waste heating the house in the night? the setback temp should probably be set between 15-17 degrees for comfort if you really want the CH on at night. There is no standard temp. As said already, its down to YOU as an individual.
