We sanded our external front door to bare wood, and applied a coat of Sikken HLS. Sikkens state that the drying time is 16 hours. However, there were still a couple of 'moist' spots after 36 hours.

Yesterday we applied the first coat of Filter 7, 24 hours later, it is still 'moist' all over and tacky! Again, the drying time stated by Sikkens is 16 hours.

So is this incredibly long drying time, over and above what Sikkens state, normal?

At this time of year and especially as it has been so wet, the drying times will increase considerably. You only have a 4 hour window really say
10 am till 2pm at best. It will dry but just needs longer. A sunny or windy day is best to speed it up.
