In my bathroom (first floor) my plumber put silicon between wall and floor tiles. I notice it’s tearing off. Is this common ? Eg settlement causing silicon to tear away?

Could be, photos?
Could also be surface wasn't clean, fillet wasn't deep enough, etc

See photo.

Thanks

Does seem a lot, is this a new built room and it's joist shrinkage? Wouldn't expect that much on an existing build.

Holes in a chimney wouldn't affect it at all. Might be shrinkage caused by having the heating on.
