We have had a new pedestal bathroom sink installed and there appear to be two problems that i would like some advice about. The first is that when the taps are turned on, the water sometimes flows onto the surface that the taps come out from. Does this mean the taps are the wrong size for the the sink (too short.) Secondly, whilst the level across the sink is horizontal, it does not appear to be level from front to back and slopes backwards towards the wall. Consequently any water spilled onto the flat surface at the back of the sink sits there for days!!! Is this right?

Surely if you've just had it installed you should get the installers back.

First point - if the taps can squirt onto the shelf then they are too short.
Second point - some sinks do this (including my own) All you can do to check the installation is to see that the back of the sink is flush against the wall. if it is, and water still sits there, its either a faulty porcelain or a design fault.
I've got 2 of these basins in my hoose (not pedestal mounted).
They came from Wickes and are called the Oslo (7 years old, maybe).
They both leave water behind the (monobloc) tap. Design fault, then :(
