Hi,
I'm about to install new flooring but need to remove the skirting.
My problem is that, after removing the carpet, I've discovered that there is a false floor about an inch high all round. This has made it difficult to remove the skirting.
Normally, as in Fig 1 in my hastily drawn diagram, I would prise it off quite easily with a crow bar. The problem is that mine is like Fig 2 so there is no leverage - indeed, the crow bar is just pushing through the plaster and the skirting stays where it is.
I have a multi master tool so could just cut the skirting at the level of the raised floor but this is going to take an awfully long time. Similarly, removing the raised floor is not an option.
Anybody have any ideas ?
Thanks, Duncan
