Hi there wonder if anyone can help please. I have a standard Amstrad box for SKY FREESAT. If i wanted to upgrade to SKY HD FREESAT how would i go about doing this if i wanted to do this myself? Obviously i will need to buy a SKY HD BOX, but what about the cables to the dish? i have one LNB at the moment on my dish, would i need to upgrade my LNB to a quad or can i just use the cable thats on the dish already with the 1 LNB?

Sorry for sounding thick, but its a little project i would like to do myself rather than pay sky 170 pounds for the equipment.

I understand when its all setup i will have to pair my new HD Box with the Freesat viewing card that i have at the moment.

Any help would be much appreciated :)

Thanks
Simon.

just swap the box for a HD box.

You only need two feeds from the LNB to use the "watch one, record another" features of Sky that you get when paying a Sky subscription

Oh i thought you needed to connect a double shotgun cable instead so the HD comes from one of the LNB'S.

No, the Freesat HD TVs only have a single feed and they work just fine. It's simply two feeds for two tuners, but a Sky HD box will work from a single feed. There;'s a service menu setting to change, but other than that it's pretty straightforward
