Hi,

Do slim plugs exisit ? I need something slimmer than standard in terms of depth as the plug needs to go into a socket which will be covered by a chest of draws. I've had a look online and can't find anything.

You could fit a fused outlet instead if removing the plug is never needed?

You could perhaps replace the socket for a slim-line plate socket, which may save around 5 mm.

MANWEB did years ago do a very slim plug. However this was before we had to have insulation on the top part of the pins. You may find an old one but technically they no longer comply with regulations.

This chest of draws (sic) will be easy to move to access the plug and socket, will it?

They used to exist as I have a couple of "precious" ones complete with sheaving on the live/neutral pins that are around 16mm deep. Awful colours, yellow and red but as they live in places you cannot see it is not a problem. I would dearly love to be able to purchase more, but these are ~20 years old and have no manufactures markings on them.

They must be possible to get by regulations as the C5 lead that comes with a Mac Mini these days has a molded plug that is about 12mm deep from my measurements.

I have no idea why you cannot get slim plugs these days, seems to be a gap in the market. Personally I would pay several quid for one if they where available.
