smeg dishwasher di 612 ca E2 Fault

I have a SMEG DI 612 CA dishwasher that is tripping out on a E2 fault code. This is described by the Smeg manual as SAFETY LEVEL- The system that limits water has been tripped. The dishwasher appears to fill and drain as required but fails to complete any of it's cycles. I have checked the high level float switch on the base tray and this is not tripping.Any help would be most appreciated. ( suspect PCB )
