Smeg Dishwasher DWD 63.1 SS, not heating

I have Smeg dishwasher that is sticking in its cycle (wash phase), water was cold, so I assumed the element had failed (or tank termostat), so I have replaced both element and tank thermostat in turn. No change, water still cold and dishwasher sticks in the wash cycle.
Any ideas? (Note, no diagnostic leds on this model)

The only other culprits left are a break or bad connection in the heater circuit wiring or a defective heater relay on the pcb.

Thanks for suggestion, no indication of fault in wiring. Couldnt find relay, unless it is embedded in the timer.
Cut my losses and bought new.. 8 years of service is not too bad I guess.
