Hi

About 3 weeks ago a burning smell came from the dishwasher then it started tripping the fuse a few days later. The source of the burning was the flow through heating element. The plastic terminal connector was scorched and metled. Does this indicate that the actual heating element is faulty or could the fault be elsewhere? I can buy a replacement element online but I just wondered whether I might be wrong and that this scorching might be a result of a fault located elsewhere.

Any advice is much appreaciated!

If the heater connector is melted you should change the heater & repair/replace any damaged wiring. Be aware any electrical component shorting out can can potentially fry your pcb. Post the model details if you require further info.
